The 45-Minute Learner Talk Time Model

In a one-hour class, our goal is for the learner to speak for around 45 minutes.

This makes the class different from a normal English lesson. The learner stays active from the beginning, while the teacher guides, supports, and helps them speak with more clarity and confidence.

How Our Method  Works

Step 1: Receive the SHO

Before class, the learner receives a Student Handout with clear preparation instructions

Step 2: Complete the SHO

The learner completes the SHO before the lesson.

Step 3: Send It to the Teacher

The learner sends the completed SHO to the teacher before class.

Step 4: Teacher Checks It

The teacher approves the SHO or asks the learner to make small changes.

Step 5: Class Begins

The lesson starts with the learner already prepared.

Step 6: Speak More with Teacher Guidance

The class follows the 45-Minute Learner Talk Time Model. The learner speaks more, while the teacher asks questions, guides answers, and gives support.

Common Questions About SHO

What is an SHO?

An SHO is a Student Handout that the learner receives before class. It prepares the learner for the speaking work they will do during the lesson.

It contains the vocabulary, language support, examples, prompts, and any important information the learner needs to use while speaking in class.

Most learners need around 15 to 45 minutes to complete the SHO. The goal is not to write perfect answers. The goal is to prepare the language needed for active speaking in class.
